TEAM COMPETITION CONCLUDED

University of Nottingham remained undefeated in the team competition

The 16-team team competition of the European Universities Badminton Championship in Miskolc has come to and end this early afternoon. The University of Nottingham took home the championship trophy, and they did so without losing a single match throughout the three days. In the final, held on Sunday, July 16, their opponent was the University of Warwick, but they couldn't challenge their rivals. After the mixed doubles and individual matches for men and women, the result was 3-0 in favor of Nottingham, so both teams mutually agreed not to play the remaining two matches that would not affect the final outcome.

The two losers of Saturday's semi-finals, the Technological University of Dublin from Ireland and the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding from Ukraine, received the bronze medal during the award ceremony.

The best domestic team was the University of Pécs, which lost 3-1 against the team from University of Strasbourg in the battle for the 5th place.

After the conclusion of the team competition, the medal award ceremony took place.
